The Evolution of Love in Three Words or Less

The Evolution of Love in Three Words or Less

A Poem by Erica
"

This is what love looks like to me. People jump into "love" too quickly and then three months later they're signing divorce papers. It's not just celebrities anymore.

"

Hello.

What's you name?

How are you?

I like you.

I love you.

Marry me.

I do.

I don't know.

You hurt me.

It's over.

Sign here.

Goodbye.

Are you there?

No.

The end.

Some people fall in love, but they are just loving the fact of being in love. This write is bittersweet and straight to the point. I liked it.

All are true points when it comes to love

Love in the 21st century. Short and to the point, too bad relationships don't have a refresh button. Good structure from beginning to end, efficient choice of words.

You make a perfect point with your poem. True love is an experience of time in many ways. We all want something lasting, not fleeting. Maybe not all of us! It's like the song, "You Can't Hurry Love." It's best to shop around and make sure you aren't grabbing the first person that comes along.
Many people are in lust with us but when it comes to taking the time experiences to get to know us, they can't be bothered. I think this is so true of today.
Excellent poem and I really love the way you set this up and how it the ending goes so well here.

Your piece is barely shorter than some of the relationships to which you refer. I really liked the brutal simplicity of this. To the point and quite frankly, a very true vision of how people jump in and out of love with no thought to the consequences or future. I know myself how many friends and aquaintances (even relatives) around me have rushed into love... excellent work. :)

Short, sweet, to the point. Seems like you've been down this road before or been around it too many time. Very little passions in this work, just like the whole event to write about. You are true to you word as you summed it all up in there words.
Well Done.

I agree. I saw plenty of this in the military as well and then even more since when I found the wonderful world of yahell. People are so determined to find that one for their happily ever after that the first person they like they automatically consider it to be love. Once they convince themselves they are in love they rush as if on a deadline to the alter without getting to know each other and each others strengths and faults. Only after the wedding does the actual dating phase come and by that time it's always too late. It's amazing how many 20-28 year old people have been married multiple times. Makes me glad I'm taking my sweet time. Excellent poetry.
