ThereA Poem by e.renoldian ode to summer and home and all those things I missWhen I close my eyes I’m there
On the beach warm and safe in your arms wrapped in nothing but you clothed in sand your kiss enveloping me in softness and bliss.
On the chlorine floating with the whale laughing at your screams and stupid dancing.
On the leather watching lives in a box lights tears joy with your booming voice echoing in the tiny apartment.
On the windy road home blasting songs you don’t care about the wind thrusting curls in my view.
On the wooden table no portabella mushrooms while we dance the night away and you light candles in the summer heat.
On the fuzzy black seat contemplating God life with you the beeping and honking in the stagnant heat claiming the witching hour in the closing of the day.
On the sidewalk goofing at the table polaroid flashes while you fuss with your long black hair.
On the coffee stained carpet alone silence accompanying strums marrying the evening songs of birds while whisps of sunlight leak through the blinds whisper sweet nothings in my ear kissing my cheek.
I’m there. © 2017 e.renoldi |
