"Where Were You" (Remembering Michael Jackson)

"Where Were You" (Remembering Michael Jackson)

A Poem by E. Renard Jackson
"

In all likelihood we'll never forgot where we were on June 25, 2009 at 2:26pm PST...

"

Where Were You...

When Dark Clouds Rose Above

The Manicured Lawns Of Beverly Hills

And Cast Its Grim Shadow Across The Globe?

Where Were You...

When The Children, Parents And Grand Parents

Came Together To Mourn The Loss Of A King,

Whose Music Defined Generations?

And Where Were You...

When You Heard His Song On The Radio,

Or When You Saw His Face

On The Cover Of Your Favorite Magazine

For The Very First Time?

Where Were You...

When His Every Video

Became A Must-See Event,

Bringing The Whole World To A Pause?

Where Were You...

When You Tried In Vain

To Mimic His Every Move,

But To No Avail?

And Where Were You...

When He First Moonwalked Across The Stage,

Right Into The Pages Of Immortality?

Where Were You...

On The Day?

Where Were You...

At The Hour?

Where Were You...

On The Day And The Hour

The Music And Our Innocence

Came To An End?

Tell Me...

Where Were You?
