In-Fi-Night

In-Fi-Night

A Poem by Eric Pudalov
"

Partly inspired by the city I live in, and partly my wacky imagination...

"
10th street bustles with
madness, as I,
a fragment of
the in-fi-night
series of travelers
push
past unvisible
walls,
and yet
nowhere is achieved
as I navigate
throughout the grid...

a system rendered
useless
by those who move
within its
passages.

now here, I walk through
nonsequentialist
mazes,
that the citizens built with
their cyborg fingers,
hoping to erect
an emerald city
that exists only
in consciousness.

the sunways are
of nothing
if they do not
illuminate
the door

permanently
in my path,
blocking
the stormsuns
that parade
upon
winter leaves,
forming
liquid snow
in the
February
fish-eye lenses.

knowing that the portcullis
to the future is permanent,
I time travel back
to Pacific
volcanos,
in the formation
of Earth,

hoping to
arise from the
phoenix magma,
cauterizing the
skies with
immortal wings...

but my flight
is shaken
by the uneven
tradewinds,
pulling me from
the life canals
and into
the flaming
eruption...

Wow, this is really something...I'm not a movie buff but it had me thinking of The Matrix...the farther I went along though, the more profound and riveting this piece became to me...by the end I felt like I was venturing beyond Jupiter and beyond the infinite a la Space Odyssey...that's how I view this poem, an odyssey, so rich in imagery and more than effective at taking the reader on a journey...fine work my friend :)

Interesting divergence from city to the centre of your mind. Enjoyed my visit, now on to see some more.
