The film "Enter the Void" is about a young drug dealer in Tokyo who is murdered during a deal. After his death, his soul leaves his body and he experiences the consequences, as well as reviewing past events in his life.

Eric, this is such a good piece of poetry. The wording and everything makes such an impact, it really makes the poem a lot more powerful and adds a kick to it. Much more 'oomph'

I loved these lines, for me they were so powerful... I love how you write specific words differently and put them in different fonts. This is really clever and very well structured.

Your review just made my morning!! I'm glad you liked the font thing, too - one of my friends in college did a similar thing with one of his poems, and everyone thought it was gimmicky...but I think it depends on the poem.
As for the words themselves, it was very much spiritually inspired. I feel as though I'm getting in touch with my "inner self" lately. Perhaps I should do so more often!!

I enjoyed reading this piece. The title grips the reader and the composition is fresh and innovative. The flow is at a constant pace, no breaks. An excellent job.

Great piece. Really like how you did this. Reminds me in some ways of tai-chi or having to do or move things with the mind when it's in complete focus.

That is kind of what I had in mind...how reality changes with perception. It was somewhat spontaneous, even though I said that the film inspired it. Hard to say what "really" inspires a poem.

I guess those ones are just inspired from what quickly pops in the mind. Like some of mine are here or some that are in my notebook as drafts for now or in my mind for awhile and haven't got down to putting it somewhere to get back to it and having it soon be up here. When you have a brilliant mind anything can come up or form into what we write or type down.
And I thought this was what you had in mind. And I have heard of the movie but haven't seen it. Your very welcome.

And to me everyone is brilliant in their own way. :o)

It's something I've been thinking about recently - I did see a film called "Enter the Void," but I've also had these visions that were like out-of-body experiences, and that kind of inspired the poem as well. I'm glad it doesn't sound wacky!!
I've been writing for a very long time, but now starting to take it a lot more seriously. I primarily write poetry and articles.
I'm not currently taking read requests because I have too many, s.. more..
