La Sirena (Mermaid) Part 2

La Sirena (Mermaid) Part 2

A Poem by Eric Pudalov
"

Part 2 in a continuing love story between a sailor and a mermaid.

"
The sailor lands    El marinero atteriza
In the tropical night, En la noche tropical,
Supposedly alone, but in the Supuestamente solo, pero en la
Nearby distance, he senses the  Distancia cercana, que detecta
Alluring presence of a stranger. La presencia de fascinación de un extraño.

The mermaid spies on him from the waters,  La sirena espía a él de las aguas
Voyeuristic in her mysterious love;    Voyeurista en su misterioso amor
She stays just beyond his point-of-view,      Ella se queda más allá de su punto de vista,
Desperately craving true affection... Ansiando desperadamente afecto verdadero...

Exhausted, the sea-weary sailor Agotado, el marinero, cansado del mar,
Drifts to sleep on the shore, Se desplaza a dormir en la orilla,
As a radiant mermaid swims silently Como una sirena radiante nada silenciosamente
Into his dreams. En sus sueños.

In her spirit-voice, speaking En su voz espiritual, hablando
Just three words of affection, Sólo tres palabras de afecto,
She tantalizingly lures him Ella tentadoramente lo atrae
Into her amethyst lair... Hacia su guarida amatista...

Within her shadowy thoughts, Dentro de sus sombríos pensamientos,
He encounters the truth of her, Se encuentra con la verdad de ella,
Seeing in those emerald eyes Al ver en esos ojos de esmeralda
A love that has not been touched. Un amor que no se ha tocado.

With a thunderous jolt he awakens, Con una sacudida atronador se despierta,
As the mermaid's figure before him Como la figura de la sirena antes que él
Turns from a silhouette to a Se aparta de una silueta de un
Corporeal being. Ser corpóreo.

"Who are you?" he finally says, "¿Quién eres tú?" dice finalmente,
His senses returning. Sus sentidos de regresar.
"The truth," she says back, "La verdad," dice ella de nuevo,
And the silent electricity is felt... Y se sintió la electricidad en silencio.

Wordlessly, they unite Sin decir palabra, se unen
In a desirous kiss, En un beso deseoso,
Their hidden affections emerging, Sus afectos ocultos emergente,
But in the moment of love, Pero en el momento de amor,
Kindled by heat... Encendió por el calor...

They each see the face of the Cada uno de ellos ven el rostro de los
Darkest of demons, its Más oscuros de los demonios, su
Threatening grin piercing through Sonrisa amenazadora perforación a través de
Their love. Su amor.

The curse separates them La maldición los separa,
And an opaque fire possesses Y un fuego opaco posee
The mermaid's mind... La mente de la sirena...
