Create (A Tribute to Arzel Joy)

A spoken word poem dedicated to fellow writer Arzel Joy.

Destined to create

From the date she was created,

Arzel will not be negated,

Nor will she be emulated!

Are you related 

To these words she composes?

No...

But you absorb through osmosis,

A mind pathway that turns you ferocious,

Until you accept that she's quite

Precocious, and you hear from

These poets, "Of course everyone knows this!"

Yet she's told us her muse,

One whose name you've confused,

Has morphed into a stranger,

Like a mystic form-changer,

A thought that makes souls

Feel like foreign exchangers...

But when her muse is fluoresced,

We see that she has expressed

Her intimate words of the lovers caressed...

And we who write know 

That our feel-

ings

u n d r e s s e d

cre-ate

sense-you-all

pow-er

like we're verbally

SEXED!!

And after...this ecs-

tatic feeling starts... 

to wane,

Arzel, like her fellow poets

Must keep herself sane...

This is the first time somebody wrote a poem dedicated to me and I am flattered, Eric!!! Thank you, thank you so much! I was smiling the whole time I was reading this. And I actually searched for the meaning of some words here ;) "Precocious" is way too much, I think. Didn't know I am like that. :P

Closest to my heart is the following lines:

It's like I'm a god and you are praying to me. LOL. Though of course I know that's not what you are trying to say. :) The structure is somewhat foreign to me because it's creatively unpredictable but it's very well composed!

LOL! Actually, no I haven't...I always thought I didn't have the "street image" to be a rapper, although I could go for the "novelty" rapper style! That's why I differentiate between slam poetry and rap - I think spoken word artists can use the hip-hop style if they want, but it's not absolutely necessary. And thank you again, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! I'm considering doing another one pretty soon.
