Liam

Liam

A Poem by Eric Pudalov
"

This is dedicated to my friends' newborn child, Liam Von Korff.

"

his

miniature pink

hands and feet

are journeying across

a glass island, where

he is guarded silently

by the column of white

dolphins,

the sentinels of day,

who need no sleep.

he speaks the wordless

language of

half-formed consonants,

facial expressions,

to communicate with mother,

father, and his guests

alike.

his eyes shine a distant

brilliance, that speaks

to the rain spirits,

wordlings who walk on water

and soar through the dreams

of children, knowing

that their alchemistic wisdom

exists.
