The Dish (for N o o d l e h e a d)A Poem by Eric PudalovThis poem is dedicated to my friend and fellow poet, N o o d l e h e a d. Bon appetit!
In the Italian masterpiece,
Have you ever given thought To the N o o d l e? Not just any, but the one at the very epicenter, the N o o d l e h e a d! She who writes her deepest emotions upon the delicate dough, weaving them invisibly into the recipe for you to taste. She serves a language lasagna, Verses baked to perfection, Spicy verbs with verisimilitude, With a palette for prepositions. And we, the customers and critics, Eagerly devour that which was concocted in the kitchen... However, we may still miss the N o o d l e h e a d, for she prefers to remain anonymous, behind the doors of the dish, smiling.
