Chameleon

Chameleon

A Poem by Eric Pudalov
"

Based on a trip to the Pantanal nature preserve in Brazil.

"
sipping espresso
from beans of the ground
I sit upon, and a plate
of ochroid pancakes tempting
my tranquil tongue,

she speaks to me from beyond
my line of sight.

her skin, shades of thundrous blue
enmeshed with papayas and tomatoes
creates blurrious storms that leave
only false impressions.

she then dashes invisibly through
cloudburst in the
jungular echoes,
becoming audiecent, a
denizen of the liquid sunshine.

is her slinky,
zestuous body
only a mirage
in the
antemeridian light
or
am I

awake?

This develops quite slowly...
as you give the reader the imagery...
and magnify that with the other compounding effect in front of you...
or just an image of the imagination or not...
