INANNA

INANNA

A Poem by E.P. Robles
"

The original, as inspired by the ancient Sumerian poet Enheduanna, reflects a style that dates back over 4,000 years, to around 2285–2250 BCE. However, the actual words are newly written and imagined

"
To Inanna, Eternal One

O Inanna, Queen of Heaven’s might,
Within your shadowed Glance, I Stand"
An Ember"kindled by your Sight"
My Heart"a Flame, within your Hand"

For You"I lift this Hymn"my Plea"
Through Dust and Storm, in fractured Grace"
Bearing Scars"yet whole in Thee"
And in Thy Name, a soft Embrace"

Your Breath"it moves"through whispered Skies"
In Murmurs"as no mortal hears"
To call the Lost, the meek"the wise"
To walk, with Thee"beyond our years"

O Bearer bright"of Wisdom’s Light"
With Stars"entwined within Thy Hair"
We seek"thy Grace"a lone Delight"
And rest"within Thy watchful Care"

I am but Clay"beneath Thy Feet"
A shifting Shape"by Nature planned"
Yet in Thy Love"my Form complete"
Held firm"by unseen Hand"
