UPON A WALTZ OF DISTANT BREATH

UPON A WALTZ OF DISTANT BREATH

A Poem by E.P. Robles
"

In its refined simplicity, Upon a Waltz of Distant Breath invites the reader to waltz with the ineffable—the spaces between breaths, the silences that carry the weight of everything unsaid.

"
A whisper, faint, that slips the air"

Of something lost and close"

It sways within the twilight’s care,

A breeze upon the rose.

The night becomes a breath withheld"

A footfall soft, then gone"

Each beat, a thought, so swiftly quelled,

Each silence"hints of dawn.

And yet, it lingers, like a ghost,

A note of sorrowed grace"

An echo of what haunts us most,

Now lost within its trace.

it is wonderful ode to all that is ephemeral. indeed, everything is ephemeral, and perhaps it is life that is 'A whisper, faint, that slips the air'. but it is a poem about everything we cannot capture, cannot ever understand. there is so much mystery in life, which most people ignore. that we take time to consider the ineffable is certainly a meditative way to be.
