A HUNDRED POEMS – XXXIV

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXXIV

A Poem by E.P. Robles

O Devastation! Thou art a grand and terrible sight,
With the splendor of the heavens, fierce and bright!
In thy storming gaze, I see the world unfurl,
And my soul"ah! it trembles as we whirl.

Thy lashes flutter, casting shadows deep,
Ensnaring me in reverie, in dreams that sweep"
Into the vast and endless dance of thee,
Where passion breathes like the rolling sea.

O, how thy eyes, like stars, command the sky,
Reflecting love, eternal, passing by.
When thou art near, all time does cease,
The earth spins slower, my heart finds peace.

Love! O mighty love, that surges in my veins,
A tide that crashes, breaks, and reclaims.
This love, so vast, it teems with desire,
A fire within that burns, that lifts me higher.

Come! O love, enfold me in thy grasp,
Let us traverse the wide world, hand in clasp"
For in thee, I find the pulse of life’s song,
Together, we shall march, where we belong.
