The Football MatchA Poem by EMPThe lights are bright, The sky is clear, And the manic chants, Are all you hear.
The enemies' insults, The Raving crowd, All excited And oh so loud.
The uproar begins, as the teams come out. As each player processes, You scream and shout.
And then it begins, The moment so still, You cannot wait, For the whistle so shrill.
They kick and the dribble, Pass and head, And all this time, You become more red.
You're so excited, So uptight. You can hear the insults, Start a fight.
You carry on watching, Scared to lose, You think the manager's, Blown a fuse!
You watch this scene, As the rivals win, People swearing, All in sin.
They look like animals, About to pounce, But there are the poachers, Ready to trounce.
You'll never forget, This game so mad, Amazingly good, Yet terribly bad. © 2008 EMP |
