My MeiA Poem by EMPThere she stood, this blind girl fair, her skin so pale and her precious dark hair. A beauty so rare, I couldn't resist, I willed for her lips, for a passionate kiss.
I helped her through the journey home, Both together yet so alone. We fought and kissed and cried and laughed, But we both knew it would never last.
They found us soon and captured us then, All of a sudden it turned to hell. This blind girl I loved was not blind at all, This blow to the mind and endless fall.
She took me out, ready to kill, Took me to the highest hill. But cut the rope and kissed me til, The sun was out and the air was still.
I left to go, my eyes filled with tears, I knew I had to face my fears. But once I'd ridden I started to regret, Leaving this girl I would never forget.
But when I got into the field, My love on the floor, her heart, a shield. I kissed her and hugged her and heard her say, Turn around and I then felt afraid.
For there was the murderer, this traitor I knew. Covered in sweat, blood, snow and dew. Dagger in his back, sword in his hand, But I'd soon banish him from this land.
We fought for days, in snow and rain, I couldn't let my love die in vain. But shocked we were as she then awoke, Blood falling down, her face all soaked.
She took the dagger out of her heart, Thinking she had saved my part. But tricked she was and once she'd failed, She closed her eyes and looked so frail.
That was the end for my poor love, Mei, I ran to her heart and there I'd stay. As she would in mine for eternity, My lover, my Mei, who stays with me. © 2009 EMPReviews
