Eight

Eight

A Poem by Eponine Roy

Eight syllables per line now that

Is the ticket! Eight lines in all

It's easy to see! That eight

Is the number that binds us two

Or at least is following me!

For eight will not leave me alone!
Nine is my number, it is!

But eight will never let me go.

Ha-ha!
The structural bonds of poetry. Very funny! I've always adored your funnier poems above all else. ;) You should really publish a book of poetry - I would most definitely buy it!

The rhythm is...perfect, considering it's in trochaic tetrameter. ;P I can also sense some slant rhyme in a few places, which also works surprisingly well! You abomination, you. ;)

The enjambment of your lines really makes the piece flow. I...cannot...tell...you...how much I love this piece! It's simply perfect!

The last line...one helluva clincher. ;)

Henry
