The Open Road and Her

a ryan luse jam

The open road and her

Feeling the changing winds as small town, large trucks bellow by

The open road and her

Driving on this concrete horizon that wants to out dream the sky

The open road and her

Making my own rules on four-way stops, this wild landscape we shall tame

The open road and her

Each crossroad I feel closer and proclaim this hope-streaked sunset in her name

Chorus

Set those headlights ahead, I took the scenic route instead

After all it’s her who’s guiding my steering wheel

I can’t wait till we collide, she’s the only reason for this ride

After all it’s her that made this road become real

The open road and her.

The open road and her

This mix CD can be my companion, till I’m holding her through life’s traffic like swirl

The open road and her

I’d give every mile on this odometer to have a travel journal of memories with this girl

She’s the inspiration of my ignition, making green lights at intersections shine

The open road and her

My acceleration seems to align like the highway of two souls becoming intertwined

Chorus

Set those headlights ahead, I took the scenic route instead

After all it’s her who’s guiding my steering wheel

I can’t wait till we collide, she’s the only reason for this ride

After all it’s her that made this road become real

The open road and her… (repeat and fade)
