Thought Shower

Thought Shower

A Poem by Ryan Luse

                         Thought Shower

I woke up today, with the sun doing an odd dance with my blinds

Dreams of girls and ghost still swirling on the forefront of my mind

Put work on hold, outside the air is rustling in a way I have yet to understand

I step into a watery confession, wondering what happened to the better man

Lord let the water fall down upon me, even if my tears get mixed in

Sometimes in life you got to feel yesterday’s regrets rolling off your skin

Maybe love and redemption hits you in a downpour in the hardest hour

Today I knew I couldn’t start changin’, till I get out of this thought shower.

I wash my hair and watch the nozzle spray like I was getting baptized in a storm

The cracks in the tile seem deep, and wonder like water if cuts can change there form

Outside the bathroom door, a girl awaits, but the air out there is destined to be cold

Looking through the foggy glass, I wash my life but know I can’t always put it on hold
