To the One I Have Not Yet Sought

To the One I Have Not Yet Sought

A Poem by Ryan Luse

To the One I Have Not Yet Sought

                       by Ryan Ray Luse

Fade in, on this drifting soul, it’s a complicated, rollercoaster- pure but radiant mess
I’ve made my mistakes, and died some, like a quarter life empty bar bottle of distress

Yet I see your light in my dreams, you look like past lives disguised in salvation sweet
Start laughing out loud because I know I won’t see that angel face till we really meet

And this is for you baby blue, the one I have not yet sought
It was you all along, so I don’t regret what I lived or fought
Because baby, I’m going to love you with everything I got.

Have you ever felt that change in your soul? A wind that makes shaman’s scream smooth
Time doesn’t exist in the doorways you have lit up like the sun chords move

Tomorrow seems like infinite, cryptic waves, roads that only a heart is bound to steer
But I’ll witness the ghosts, live infinite lives, because you’re already in my rearview mirror

, the one I have not yet sought
It was you all along, so I don’t regret what I lived or fought
Because baby, I’m going to love you with everything I got.

I loooooooove this. The whole thing makes me drift off into my own thoughts about somebody I feel that way for. Moving piece, lovely writing.
