Moon Baby Darling

Moon Baby Darling

A Poem by Gem Marie

How did you get so cold
I need you to give up or give in to that ego because the shape it's in it cannot be sold
It's not like I need to be told to white out the touch, it's gotten so old
I'm staring at you staring back at me and all I wanna do is scream
Sorry
My voicebox is frozen solid I can't even speak
Place your bets that I'm the type to apologize constantly
You probably already made a pact to forget about me
Gem rock misbehavior, I need some sort of emotion that won't melt right down to the floor
It doesnt have to be high quality
But you're giving me nothing making it hard for me
When I freeze I almost forget how to breathe
It's my tire your wasting, you need to admit that its me you've been tasting
I got you convinced this fever is something contagious
You shook my bones to dust
But baby the closer you come reminds me of hating all that i've become
When you're looking at me looking back at you
I have no choice but to hate the way you're making me wait
Cause you're not feeling, there's nothing to reel in you're a sacred stone
That's never shown any emotion and with this type of light it is supposed to grow
But how can I let go of something I never gave myself a chance to hold
I knew I had to give you up eventually but why'd you let me get away
You dont have to bet that I'm the type to beg you to stay
It's a need that I don't have to want to come around I'm waiting but how long will this take
My weak stomach seizes control, the churning acid is what keeps me awake
No has no use without undead bait, I'm leaving you with an empty plate
It's on you're mind of course it is but you don't care a bit
You're missing beats trying to believe we will some how make it
As you're takin advantage
But granted, I'm devoted to rituals this world
Speaks in switching lights and street signs
These lines have not yet faded because you're the king of everything jaded
So please dont lock it because something inside just never feels right
Contrast has taken the first fast express train how do I explain there is no black or white
In time, you have crossed my mind
While you're trying not to let go I have fallen behind
It's my tire your tasting, you need to admit that its me you've been wasting
It hurts to tell you this
You've been gone since the day you're lips lusted yes towards my kiss
