What falls upon the Gods deaf ears

What falls upon the Gods deaf ears

A Poem by ephiphany~

I can still taste you in my mouth

The sensation still lingers

Underneath my tongue

Across my lips

The actuality

Of that very moment

Was one that singed my psyche

It burned down to the soles of my feet

I ask the heavens to bring this feeling

Back to me

If only in the smallest minutest way

To watch you slumber

To hear you breathe

But the Gods ignore me

And tell me to go and hide

For what I want is poison to me

It is perhaps what I want but surely is not what I need.

Very good work here, well written and structured. I like the imagery of the poem and the idea of something forbidden, well done.
