Because I Put My Faith in YouA Poem by Percy G. ScrubbsThis poem is about my relationship with my LoveBecause I
Put My Faith in You When the world around me May be like a ship without a sail
or compass true Without purpose and doomed to
sink in life’s tragic storm I put my faith in You.
If my heart lay Scattered and broken in many
pieces on the ground My tears are dried, and my heart
begins to mend like new When I put my faith in You.
I gave You my heart I gave You my love so true I gave You everything The hour I put my faith in You.
You gave me the promise of Your
heart and everlasting love, Peace of heart and comfort in my
cheerless and dismal moments A happier, fuller life too A most precious gift in return
for putting my faith in You.
Even when things don’t seem to be
going the way I wish I just smile calmly; worry not my
friend Because I know with absolute
doubt, You have a better plan So now I put my faith in You.
I was a child, my faith feeble
and incomplete Unsure and unstable on my
feet-like a baby new Now I have put away my childhood
fears Because I put my faith in You.
I knew not where my life was
bound The path I was to tread unclear
to me, but now No more; my way is made apparent,
my dreams coming true Ever since I put my faith in You.
