CHANGES

 

I know it will break your heart

It’s obvious we have grown apart

Although the love I have for you is true

The road we walk has split in two

This journey I make is no mistake

I can’t keep these ties just for your sake

You were my first love, another like I’ll never find

I’ll keep a special place for you in my mind

 

 

As I sail across the ocean blue

I smile as I think of you

The funny things you’d say and do

Special days I spent with you

I’m ready now to take life’s risks

The wind on my face it feels brisk

I love you dearly and hope your life don’t fall apart

Sometimes love goes deeper than the heart

 

No goodbyes or heartache

I leave you for my sake

Drawn out nights, long troubled days

Helped me decide to be on my way

No rivers or meadows nothing seems real

Pretty picture cottages, flowers in the field

I think for my self dear, it was your fear

I go to the next stage and embrace the next year

The rules of the game pass down the ages

There are no answers, momentarily rages
