Nubian LoveA Poem by enufDedicated to my friend Eileen who went to Egypt on holiday and fell in love with a Nubian Guide
Nubian Love Day is drawing to an end; thoughts of you are in my head Lay down on my pillow close my eyes It should come as no surprise, drifting into paradise Clear pictures all around its divine Walking through the sand dunes distant drums play a tune Stars shining in the sky above I pray my love for you is not blind Way up north of Sudan your Kosh tribe did survive Building flat roof houses of sun dried brick Made their life on the Settling in the sands near Opulence is in their smile, substance they care for life Little happy children all around I’d give my life up in the West, just to lay down where you rest Hope some day I will be your wife Life to me don’t mean a thing if I cant let you in I think of your gorgeous big brown eyes Your caring nature got me memorised, without you I think I’ll die Your pure honesty the lovely things you say I’m sure I want to spend my life with someone that’s so kind It pains my heart when you are not near Things are clear in my head; look forward to our life ahead Need you to make me feel secure My beautiful Nubian lover you’re in my life Without you in my mind I’ll not survive My beautiful Nubian lover makes me alive I give my heart to you be my guide © 2009 enuf |
