This song is dedicated to a dear friend of mine whos life is enabling young people everywhere

If happiness is a state of mind, then why do I feel blue

I’m watching things around me the bad things we all do

Now I’ve been told life’s what you make it, not sure if that’s true

My head my heart my eyes don’t see anything that’s new

Got to get myself up walk tall and be strong

If I’m gonna make it through this life at all

 

We’ve got to make things better, understand were we belong

In this tiny world we live in, I know I can’t be wrong

My head inside is always aching, my heart is broken to

This destruction all around isn’t very good for you

We must stand up and be counted, shout out all day long

We should help one another get along

 

Roll models for our children, it’s what we have to do

This despair I feel insides not gonna get me through

Teaching them to correct our wrong, not repeating history

Hope they learn to protect their young, from all our misery

It’s not a game you know, we have to get along

Collectively together we will sing this song

 

If there is a God please give me strength to help me do my day

If you change things tomorrow, I swear I’ll pray

 

I’ll pray for love peace and harmony

Ensure  world leaders could agree

That all our little children they could eat

Make sure they had a home where they could sleep

Enable them in schools where they felt safe

From all of us around the human race

 

Alas I pray for things you cannot do

Just give me strength to help me get through
