A song for SteveA Poem by enufA poem for my seamingly 'normal' friend
A song for Steve Wide eyed on the dance floor I look around and crave for more Rocking bodies crazy moves Would you be in my shoes Popping pills snorting coke This life is no joke Smiling faces all loved up Where were you I’m out of luck Monday in the West End Money I can’t afford to spend BOGOF steals, cocktail deals Its up to me this is real Party goers all night smokers Looking round I spy the brokers Lay me on till pay day I want to stay around and play Late night bus to Islington When I get home I hope your in Clapped out hairdo, body throbbing My head hurts inside I’m sobbing Monday in the West End Money I can’t afford to spend BOGOF steals, cocktail deals Its up to me this is real Up at 8 I’m in a state Got to hurry running late Don my suit Iron my shirt Everything has gone berserk In the office all looks well At my desk my head feels swelled Hello sir, how are you? Can I put your order through? © 2009 enuf |
