Someone like Home

Someone like Home

A Poem by Entrelesnuages

A lost dream
split at the seams
reminds her of things that could have been

If only
she had been a little more
Clever
Perhaps they could have survived the stormy weather

If only
she had a little more
heart
maybe then they wouldn't have grown apart

If only
She had been a little more
brave
maybe then it could have been saved

But she hadn't been
and he gone
and everything was going wrong

Don't worry little girl
there are other boys in the world
Some pretty red pumps
and cute new clothes
and you will find
someone like home

Author's Note

Entrelesnuages
Does the first stanza work with the rest of this? Also is the Wizard of Oz reference too subtle?

We all want to find that someone like home to us, don't we? Cute, heart-wrenching poem.
