Bitter after taste of ChristmasA Poem by Entrelesnuages
A sparkly shimmer A glow Then A glimmer My wish is to be
thinner Funny how holiday
cheer Only makes us reach
for more beer When faced with
bright lights, gifts Our downward spiral
becomes so swift The cheeriness of how
we ought to be The intimidating
notion of caring for a tree Seeing our family
brings out all our ghosts It’s a forced reunion
with those we hate most The same holidays
supposed to bring out our best Only make us
acknowledge that we are such a mess The presents not
thoughtful the turkey always too small Make a Merry Christmas To one And to all © 2011 EntrelesnuagesAuthor's Note
