Familiar Lullaby

Familiar Lullaby

A Poem by Nameless
"

She can't run along anymore, but she tries to remember..

"
The words hanging on
Like her heart
For his.
Whispering a familiar lullaby in front of her eyes
"As you rest your eyes tonight,
my darling in-vision the moon so bright
lighting the dark and your beauty alike,
I wish I may I wish I might, forever and always
I will hold you tight."
Lingering there, where she least expects it,
The words posses a rhythm carrying her away in their beauty
To a time when they represented her world
"I love you, sweetheart, come with me,
i'll show you all that you can be
and when you realize what there is to see,
with my hand outstretched i'll pull you free, a diamond in the rough,
eyes sparkling preciously."
Waiting and pacing is all she knows,
While the lullaby drifts off,
Brushing her pale cheek
Sending shivers down her spine,
As it vanishes from her memory
Leaving the sting of tears behind to remind her..
"You cannot follow me in,
as this venom crawls through my skin,
my life is over, I leave you with nothing,
except a meaningless I love you and a heart broken."
The words hanging on like her heart for his
The sting of tears reminding her of the end.
