A New DayA Story by EnthusiastFlash Fiction. Exactly 100 words. My bare feet pick up dew as I step through the crisp night air into the garden. The night birds have just concluded their symphony, and the neighborhood lies fast asleep. Even the wind holds its breath, sending otherwise rustling tree branches into an interim coma.
The only sound I can hear is the blood pulsing through my veins.
Then, at long last, my wait is over: The first morning bird daringly announces the new day. Without hesitation, all other birds instantly add their spirited song to his perfect harmony.
I start breathing again and head back to bed.
