Hitting the Pavement in the Summer Sun

Hitting the Pavement in the Summer Sun

A Poem by Megan Marie

My a*s is sore

my joints are about to give

I don't get paid

I don't get laid

all I get is the feeling of accomlishment

and maybe get to stay alive for another day.

Everyday is the same

here I go again I say.

Put on my hat

and my shoes

fill my bottle

grab my phone

and a way I go

How many miles will it be today?

Will I go farther than yesterday?

Glistening with sweat

dying of thirst

Looking ahead and a hill I see

ah f**k, I'll never make it

ok so I do, barely.

This is my joyful summer day

hope this all pays out in the end

hope the results come in!
