SETTLE

When in the past your never shown,
Self weakness is all you have ever known.
Never shown what its like to be treated right,
But being alone, gives you such a fright.

Your hurt over and over again....
By so many different men....
You learn to accept it and then....
You pick up your trusty pen.

You write and write you express,
You talk to people, when your destressed.
You see the good in each and every soul,
You put up with the unexceptable and it takes a toll....

You start to doubt your self worth for sure,
You think that your not worth anything more.
Your not told your beautiful so you doubt,
You dress up more, as a call to get noticed, a shout.

You ask questions, listen to your man speak,
Your full interest on him, its never dull or bleak.
You wait, but he never asks what your all about,
So the conversation changes its route.

Theres little things he may do or say...
That make you feel important in some way...
So you fight, you stick around you stay....
He should make you feel special everyday...

Your so used to it, you no longer see red flags,
You no longer think about packing your bags.
Suddenly you have adapted, you become sure,
You can settle here, your not worth anything more.

So many weman feel this way so you see,
And this is now also becoming me....
