THE STORY OF SEV! (Survivor)

This is the story of Sev. She had a hard few years of life, was badly mistreated but made it out alive!

CHAPTER 1: THE FIGHTING!

Get in the ring you stupid mut, my owner John says as he shoves me into the fighting ring. 

I turn around to find out who

my opponent is today, hoping its not someone way more built then me, some of these girl dogs are pretty built and strong,

believe it or not.

The dog that I see before me is nothing like I have ever seen before, that big and strong she looks like a male.

Usually its always girl dog on girl dog, male on male. I have never wanted to fight anyone, but if I don't the other dogs will kill me, they have no mercy, I have to defend myself.

Yet I feel so bad I usually win, but the other dog goes out of the ring in really bad shape sometimes. Its bad enough that I don't want to fight, and that I hate beating other dogs so badly. Now they have done this to me. 

I find out because I have beat all the girl dogs that now I am

up against a guy. 

I over here John talking to his buddy...

"Hey charlie what a match this is going to be aee." John looks at Charlie with excitement. "Yer Sev is brilliant if she beats this dog today It will be amazing. I mean I have 50 bucks on her, I will get 500 return, if she beats a male dog, and shes that good I wouldn't doubt her." 

"Oh she would wan't to win, I have 1,000 dollars on her." John says glaring at me.

"Wow man you serious." Charlie reply's stunned. "Dead serious"John reply's. My heart feels like its going to jump out of my body, this is crazy. If I don't win this god knows what he will do to me. 

I mean I usually always win, but I lost once and John only put 40 bucks on me. I already got beat in the ring that day. He beat me some more when we got home, called me all the horrible names you could ever think of. 

I also didn't get fed for two days straight. I was in bad shape and didn't fight for three months after that.

Everyone has finished placing there bets. 

I take another look at the dog i am up against.

I am extremely scared.

The dog bears its teeth at me. 

The guy in the middle of the ring then starts to talk in his deep voice.

"Hello everyone and welcome to the semi finals, which yes a girl dog named Sev has made it to.

To the left we have Sev, who has allot of writing on her tonight.

To the right we have Dingo, who in previous fights had killed one of his opponents,and has left allot of others fighting for there lives. Anyway I know your all waiting so I wont keep you waiting any longer."

I zone out and look into Dingos eyes while the guy talks on.

"Sorry sweetheart." Dingo says with a grin. "Nothing personal, but one of us has to win, and my reputation would be ruined if I let a female beat me." I promise It will all be over very quickly."

I tremble in fear. I look up and the last thing I remember is hearing the word "FIGHT" yelled out. 

After that I felt the most pain I have ever felt. 

More pain then I thought possible, rushes through my body. Then The world goes black on me, and I think I am dead. 

Which honestly, compared to the life I am living now wouldn't be such a bad thing.

This really touches the heart and reflects how nasty we as humans can be to other living creatures. I will never understand the appeal of putting two animals together to fight for our amusement. The message you are sending with this short story is strong and overall, impressive. I think this deserves to get published and used to help prevent this kind of thing. We are not the only creatures with feelings on this earth. Very well done :)

a moving chapter that touches your heart whether you are an animal lover or not. I can't begin to understand what joy those dog owners derive from watching dogs tear each other apart.

It is a daring story to tell and I have to give you credit for that. It does need to be tightened up and there are punctuation and spelling issues that need to be addressed. Still, this captured my attention. Well done.

cimmy, This is simply as realistically depicted and controversial a topic as I have ever seen anyone tackle here on WC. You could have written a simple story on the horrors of dogfighting, but by choosing to voice it through the dogs eyes was a brilliant idea. A VERY mature way to go at it. It takes courage to take on such a disgusting practice and shed light on its essence. If you would tighten it up a bit (spelling? punctuation?) this could be a "60 Minutes" report on dogfighting. Your writing has reached an entirely higher level, from what I can see. Cross your t's and dot your i's...it does make it better, as lame as it might seem. An ASTONISHING good and HONEST write. This is being saved into my library favorites! take care...dan

I only use to get annoyed at people because there whole review was about my spelling errors. But yours are mainly about the piece then you talk about the grammar issues. I respect that :)
