HALF A HEART!

I was inspired by the song half a heart from one direction. Once again this is dedicated to my amazing man! I truly am half a heart without you.

I'M HALF A HEART:

When we're apart I'm just not quite myself,

I'm missing pieces and I no longer feel complete.

Like a book with missing pages, pulled from its shelf,

Half of me goes with you, as does the books sheet.

I'M NOT MOTIVATED:

I'm not motivated to do things we usually do together,

I hibernate like an animal in stormy weather. 

I miss you far too quick, far too soon,

I'm like a song that has no tune.

I FEEL LIKE:

A puzzle missing its most important piece, 

Putting it together just wouldn't be the same.

Like a paper once so perfect, that now has a crease,

Like a poor sad little dog that no one will claim.

I NEED YOU:

I need you like a hot air balloon needs fire to fly,

I need you like a bird needs to soar in the sky. 

I need you like the world needs night and day,

It can't have one, it needs both, that's just the way.

I WANT YOU:

I want you like a kid wants some toys,

Just like that its you that brings me my joys.

I want you like a dog wants attention, and even a pat,

I also love attention but in different ways than that. 

I'M HALF A HEART:

So when you read this, just to let you know, 

My feelings for you will continue to grow. 

I'm half a heart when you're not here,

I hope this poem has made that clear.

Like nature, earth, sky, science, animals, humans, objects - it just shows the depth of the love that you hold in you. Beautiful piece of writing.
