Trinkets at Fairy Falls

Trinkets at Fairy Falls

A Chapter by enigmaticwings
"

Forgetting

"

Delicate tattered memoirs and shiny treasured trinkets

My shaken palms held timeless morsels

Miniature purses, beaded strings,  and dried roses

Remembering well wishes and burning sage

I whispered to the waning moon and

She whispered to the brightest star

Hush now child, tis the night of mourning

The ancient stand began to sway the boughs

And the forest breeze gently grazed

The clear pools that gathered anxiously

Watching the dancing flames within the circle of stone

I sidled my way to stand over the raw heat

The glowing towers of ember began licking at my fingers

And the delicate memoirs and shiny treasured trinkets

Fell silently from my aching hands

With tinder to stoke the sting of heart pangs

I whispered to the waning moon

Let my love carry on longer than these priceless tokens

And the moon whispered to the brightest star

Sing now child, carry the memory of love with you
