Autumn swing

On this swing we always glide,
who we are completely aside,
back and forth for a while.
Sometimes we frown & sometimes we smile.

The wind pushes us ahead
and the drifted leaves are faded-red.
We are greeted by the white sunlight
& sung to sleep by the blue lush at night.

The swing silently remains,
while we dream of worldly gains,
but we will still glide & never fly,
once we are awake with a morning sigh.

BB This is a wonderful imagery poem. Your writing has improved considerably since I first started reading your work. Take it to the next level. As you write or as edit, think about each and every word. Consider its meaning in the context of the poem, the sentence, the phrase. Find connections within each idea that carries the reader to the imagery, meaning, feeling or understanding you are seeking to invoke.

This is incredibly hard to do and only the greatest really succeed at it. Read Maya Angelou or Margaret Atwood or T.S. Elliot or E.E. Cummings to learn how the masters waste no words.
