Caged

You’re not worth the wait,

Breaking promises one after another,

Yet not worth the hate,

For we once walked along together.

I did get mad and yell,

But it’s always my heart that cries,

Yet you couldn’t tell

and didn’t see through my lies.

Please, just go and  fly away.

Sorry for keeping you caged.

I don’t want to marry you anyway,

For you can’t handle being engaged.

We must listen to our mind sometimes. Old heart will get us in trouble. If we are lucky we see the mistake before it happen. Marriage is very hard. Trying to keep someone content for many years take a lot of love and patience. Poem is powerful and answer it own question. When it feel wrong. Run like hell. A excellent poem. Direct and to the point.

A sad epiphany but a real life lesson (don't you wish we didn't need them like this?). Love can be like being caged when it's wrong.. wrong person.. wrong time.. wrong place.. any of em (you definitely are better not to marry the wrong person though) You could sense in the ending the tiring of waiting.. with a hint of hope still feeling like it's hidden in a challenge of sorts maybe.. it's hard to tell cause it's writing! People do break promises.. sad creative writing.. may you have better luck if this is written from reality!

I always regret looking back even once with break ups , it a matter of grace and this poem adresses that.
