May

May

A Poem by black.butterfly
"

Love is letting go

"
May

I remember that smile in disbelief.
You were really here with me, May.
Can you sense it, my endless grief?
There's a lot of things I wish to say.

May I keep you with me forever?
Will you stay? Watch over me.
I know it can't happen. Never,
for a caged bird you would be.

Now go, fly and spread your wings.
Will you let me see that smile glow?
Even if I'm a bird that no longer sings.
I must learn how to let you go.

Very nicely done...if only it were this easy. Watching them fly away...the saddest part of the day.
