I often make up a little game with my kids and say "I bet if I fried you up on barbeque, you would taste just like a pork chop!" and we would all take turns guessing what each of us would taste like. Yes, we're a weird family! But we do indeed attach our personalities to objects and their tastes. My wife is a definite nectarine, tender fleshed and luxuriously sweet with a hard, nut-like core.
I like lemon in my Gin
It doesn't taste bitter in there at all
The more you drink the better it taste
The better it taste the more you drink
See how this gets started
I don't drink Gin anymore
So no more lemon, I'll have a Strawberry
( Strawberry dacory that is) LOL
I enjoyed this write

This is one of my favorites of yours, Emma. Exceptional imagery and play of the various fruits on the lemon make this a very intense poem. It is not a good thing sometimes to make lemonade: What is, is though in my time I have experienced some transmutation.
Excellent work. I know we say it too much around here, but thanks for sharing. It really is imprtant for you and for all of us graced as we all are with each other.
My name is Emma, i have been writing poetry since i was a young girl. I am also in the process of writing a novel. This is a complete different dicipline and i am finding it hard but will not give up... more..
