PartnersA Poem by emz
You say that you're my partner, and everthing is fine, but are you my partner in life, or just a partner in crime?
I met you at the tender age of fifteen and a half. We've led a crazy life since then, we've lived like kings, and we've starved.
We terrorised our neighbours, drove cars that just weren't ours, we stole from people we didn't know, we thought we had the power.
Remember that old lady, you helped across the road, you thought it would be funny, to relieve her of her load.
I remember laughing all the way, to the pub we always went, with ecstacy and cigarettes, all the money, it was spent.
We'd have a pint, or two or three, off our heads we would be, then when the money had all but gone, we'd head back to the streets alone.
Just who were we impressing, why did we lose the plot, we thought that we were messing, but just look at where we got.
We're 22 now, my mate, you're in Durham, and i,m a state. Was it worth all the grief, living and loving as a thief.
I've grown up now, its took some time, but you will always be, my partner in crime. © 2008 emz |
