Up in the night sky

Up in the night sky

A Poem by Emily Collins
"

A little poem I came up with to night

"

I look from a far, up into the night sky

Trees of the forest surround me, and the wolves do howl

They soothe me with their soft midnight lullaby.

I look from a far, up into the night sky,

The hoot of an owl tells me sunrise is near

I’d better not dream of your face today, since you’re not here.

I look from a far, up into the night sky

I dreamt your face was inches from mine.

I woke with a start, surrounded by snow, and then I realize I’m all alone.

I look from a far, up into the night sky

The shooting of stars pass me by.

The fire flies come out to play, hypnotized by their lights, I begin to stray.

The howl of the wolves, the hoot of the owl, the crunch of my footsteps in the snow

I looked from a far, up into the night sky,

and realized tonight I need you by my side.
