Steps of a Wanderer

Steps of a Wanderer

A Poem by Emily Quinn

Glide along moonlit silk

Upon feet made of glass

Kiss the chill of twilight's breath

And taste the poor mans ilk

Savor calm of the Universe

The black silence of the stars

Sway in Earth’s cradled touch

The wanderer’s traverse

Bound from ledges of normalcy

Through the palm a coin shall burn

An ember of the suns array

Unbound by ties of solvency

Sway amongst oceanic tide

Feet unbound with heavy led

Not a penny in the pocket

No man from which to hide

So glide along moonlit silk

Upon feet made of glass

Kiss the chill of twilights breath

And taste the poor mans ilk

poetry that dances upon the iris of the mind's eye , words that stretch in silky tendrils from the dreamscape
