Forever needed

Forever needed

A Poem by Emily Quinn
"

even when they can hardly carry themselves they will still gladly bear your weight without a second thought.

"

Like the woven patches of a comforting quilt

That hold sacred memories so dear

Wrapped around our slender arms

In an always welcome embrace.

Like a warm bath, fragrant and soft

Soothing away our aches and chills.

Lavender bubbles and rising steam

Relax our troubled hearts.

Like the smiling sun lighting our way

And casting aside our fears

The dark path ahead of us all

No longer daunts the mind.

With the strength of a nations army

Standing so strong and proud

We know we’re always protected

By the ever relentless will.

With the gentleness of a summer breeze

Caressing our rosy cheeks

Our tears are soon wiped away

Replaced by an innocent gleam.

For a child of any age

A mother’s love is forever needed

To help us along our way

For when we ever lose our strength

At our sides she will always be

To carry us in her arms

until we can once again stand on our own

Stand strong, tall and free.

I like this alot, especially the stanza about the army. This was a very good image. Your last stanza is great too, I wouldn't change a thing about it. Some of this was a bit typical, simple, like something you might see on a greeting card. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing. It was very sweet. I liked it a lot.
