An Open Letter Part 2

An Open Letter Part 2

A Poem by Mily
"

Not poetry - just letting my thoughts flow

"
To the boy that use to have the neon yellow backpack..
When you outgrew the yellow backpack,
you outgrew the guy I fell in love with.
It's been years since the kid with the yellow backpack showed his face.
I miss you.
I've learned that chances aren't endless,
and shouldn't be, especially not with you.
I miss you when good things happen,
and when bad things happen.
I wanted to call you when I got my job..
And I constantly wonder how you're doing,
If you got the job, if you didn't,
if the dogs are okay,
and how your mom and siblings are doing.
I know that we aren't meant to be.
Especially because of your lack of loyalty and honesty,
but I still miss you.
My heart still aches for you.
My heart aches for the boy in the neon yellow backpack,
for the boy who seemed to love me infinitely.
You promised me forever,
but I couldn't promise forever to your lies,
or those endless green eyes full of deception.
Missing you desperately,
The one who finally gathered the courage to leave
