Back Up

Back Up

A Poem by Mily
"

You can't catch any waves swimming out in the water.

"
Ever since I was little, I've always wanted to surf.

And then, finally, for my thirteenth birthday, I learned to surf. So,we woke up early to catch the marvelous morning waves. We rented out boards and wetsuits. And as I learned to surf,I realized that that's what life is about.

It was about the way you would get out of the water when it tossed you around like drying laundry. It was about trying to get back on the board when you thought you'd lost the strength in your fingers. It was about getting back up, swimming to where you were, getting back on that surfboard, and trying again.

So, I just wanna tell you to get back on your board. Find your balance. I promise that when you do ride that wave, all of the times that you've gotten beat up by the wave, your tossing and turning will vanish just as fast as the waves kiss the shore goodbye.
