Melting Away.

I wonder why telling people the truth causes so much pain. 

People want the truth, 

but would much rather be comforted with a lie. 

It's like, watching a candle burn. 

You want it to burn because you like the smell,

but when it finishes you no longer will have the smell, nor the candle. 

And thats how telling the truth is. 

You know you need to tell the truth to find peace, 

but you don't want to because you want to keep that person free from heartache.

But most of all, you don't want to see them melt away from your life.

Nice work. Personally, i feel that one should always tell the truth, no matter the cost. The way i see it, even if the truth is painful, I'd rather hear it, than live in blissful delusion. Those with honesty, who'll still stick with you through it all - those are the ones I've kept through the years. Thank you for sharing. Keep writing, friend.
