Koda watched as Amaya gingerly hung up the phone, her eyes gentle yet worried.

"Amaya?" Koda called, but she remained unresponsive.

Hmm, this girl sure is strange...

Gently, Amaya turned around. "They'll be here soon. We should prepare," she said, brushing some of her beautiful pink hair out of her eyes. Koda nodded in agreement. It'd been such a long time since she ever had company over. She'd have to clean up the living room and cook some food. After all, who knew how long they'd be over?

But first...

"Amaya, come with me. I need to show you to your room."

Amaya nodded, pulling her cellphone out of her pocket to answer a text message. Koda grabbed her hand and guided her through her shabby apartment. It wasn't much, but it was all Koda could afford. She figured she should tell Amaya sometime about the water, gas, and electric problems the apartment had, but that would be for another time. Right now, she needed to focus and showing her where she'd be staying.

Oh gosh, she never had a roomate before. What would this be like? Would it be the same as living by herself? Different? Tsk, of course it'd be different! She'd always have someone to talk to, someone to share stories with, have pillow fights, all those little girly things she was denied as a child. With more enthusiam, she led her to the room across the hall.

"Here you are," she said, showing her the room in the grandest way possible.

The room was small, but with a little re-decoration it would suit Amaya just fine. There was a single bed in the center of the room with a plain wooden dresser and a tan bedside table next to it. A single flower sat in a glass vase on the windowsill, looking lonely and sick. It was obvious Koda only intended this to be a guest room, hence why she didn't bother making it look overly nice. She blushed. "I'm sorry, Amaya...it's not Ritz material, but I hope it will satisfy."

Amaya stood looking both disgusted but grateful as she walked in.

"Hmm...well, with a bit of work I can make it look great." She pressed her hand against the wall, adjustment ideas already running through her head. "Some new wallpaper...oh and some lights....new curtains...and maybe a rug."

Koda laughed. "I have a job down at the florist's, so I don't bring in too much money. You're probably going to have a tight budget," she said, coming closer to Amaya who was staring at the flower in the vase.

"That flower...what kind is that?" she asked.

"Daisy."

"Where'd you get it?"

Koda blushed, her eyes gentle and reluctant to tell. "Oh...um, well....I got it from my grandfather."

Amaya felt a wave of understanding come over her. "Your grandfather? Is he...y'know...somewhere else?"

Koda gave a half-hearted laugh as she fingered one of the petals, which crisply fell into her palm. "Yeah, he's been gone for awhile now. I've nursed this daisy for a few months now, but it doesn't have much time left."

Before more could be said, there was a knock on the door. Amaya's face brightened. "Ahh! Ichigo!" she called, rushing out of the room and shutting the door behind her. Koda felt herself gasp.

Well...someone's excited...

She opened the door just enough to peek through, and sure enough Ichigo was already in the room, holding Amaya close and already making up with her. Koda's heart skittered as she looked over and saw that his friend was with him.

That boy...

She'd seen him at a few parties she'd gone to. He was always chatting some girl up, always having a good time, always keeping the flow going. The last time she saw him, he took her by the hand and danced with her at a techno club. It was the best time she'd ever had a party, but she didn't think too much of it and figured she'd probably never see him again. Now he was here...in her apartment...

She shook her head. No! All she wanted to do was tell him thank you for such a good time, and that was it. Besides, with his looks and constant energy, he probably had a girlfriend. What difference would it make?

"Koda! Come on, how long are you going to be in there?!" Amaya called, and Koda blushed.

Oops...

Quietly, she stepped out of the room. Ichigo and Amaya were sitting on the couch holding hands, while his friend was sitting at the counter drinking a glass of orange juice. When he spotted her, he laughed. "Hey there, I've used one of your glasses." He lifted it up and air-toasted her. "Hope you don't mind."

"N-No, don't mind, I!" she sputtered, and he raised an eyebrow at her. "I...I mean, no I don't mind. I have to do dishes later any-anyways."

He shrugged, and she saw Amaya crack a mischevious smile. Koda sat down on the loveseat in front of them and crossed her legs. "Well, Ichigo, I've heard alot about you since we left the restaurant. I'm glad to finally get to meet you." She extended her hand to him. "My name's Koda. It's a pleasure to meet you."

They shook, and without being asked his friend walked over and shook her hand too. "Name's Edward, incase you were ever going to ask." She gasped, and she knew her face was getting red. "Oh well nice to meet you, s-sir...Edward," she said, shrugging.

Amaya laughed, then her face grew serious. "Okay so, enough with the intros. Lets talk about something more serious...my issues with you, Mr. Ichigo!"

Ichigo felt himself break into a cold sweat. Edward stifled a laugh, and Koda looked away in embarrasment. Somehow, she felt like these people would become some very good friends of hers. She passed a look to Edward.

Well, at least she hoped they would...
