-The Case of Elaine Anderson-

Oral Testimony given by Hannah Calico

"She was always so pretty.

Elaine, I mean. Elaine Anderson. She was always the envy of everyone I knew. Including myself. I mean, think about it Officer, you saw her yourself. She's outstandingly beautiful. I never once thought that she'd....

Well, anyhow, what am I to talk about now?....Oh yes, right. Elaine at school. She was just like...yknow, perfect. She had everything that you dream of having in high school. Scott. She had Scott. She made alot of silent enemies because of being with him, e-excluding me of course. But then again, it was only a natural hookup: she was the head cheerleader, he was the captain of the football team. Thats like high school ri-ritual right there. It's their fault for being so...so stuck up.

...Right, I'm sorry. Elaine, as far as classes went, got really good grades. She was passing nearly all her classes, with the exception of history. A 3.8 grade average, Officer. That's really good. Course, you already know that...mmm yes. She always had a kind heart towards her classmates. If someone didn't understand the work, she'd help them out as best she could. She gave it her all in cheerleading, too. Everybody joked about how they wished she had energy to spare.

Oh...oh Officer, I just dont understand...Elaine. Is she really...? She must be.

Hmm? Did Elaine ever act suspicious? No, Officer. Not that I can remember. She was very open with her friends about pretty much everything. If she was having a rough day, we were the first to know about it. It was the same no matter what kind of day she was having. She never acted--oh wait, y-yes she did. Elaine never wanted to talk about h-her home life. We asked her a whole bunch of times if we could come over to house for, like, a sleepover of something but she always said no. That her parents wouldn't allow it. Didn't stop us from asking though. B-But it seemed like her rebuttles got harsher the more we asked. But thats natural, right Officer?

I know now though, why she wouldn't let us come. It's...this. She was hiding this. Oh God...oh God..!! Officer, please, can I have a tissue? I'm starting to cry again.

Very, very nice way to kick of the story, it hooked into the reader and will definitely keep them coming back. It almost felt like I could hear the friend of Elane speaking right beside of me, you really knew where you wanted to create pauses and build tention, which something to be aplauded for. I sawe little to no grammer mistakes as well. Great job and I can't wait to read more!
