Chapter 38: Shukketsu Argument

"Kaen!! Why did you do that!?"

 

Ayumi's face is bright red with anger as I lifted my hand on the phone. She's upset I hung up the phone, so what? There was no way I was going to let communication between Ayumi and Alphonse resume after what I heard. "Dont play dumb with me, Ayumi. You know very well why I did that. Alphonse isnt to be trusted."

 

She blushes. "What do you mean? I dont know what you're--"

 

"Stop it Ayumi. Dont bother lying on his account. Resembool's a small town. Word gets around fast."

 

Her eyes widen, and I know she knows that I know. I know very well what Alphonse tried to do to Koda. I also know that Edward was playing around with the idea of pressing charges for Sexual Assault and Attempted Rape. Whether or not he did was none of my concern. What WAS my cocern though was if he was around my sister or not.

 

I'd die before I let that happen.

 

Ayumi blushed, looking down at the floor. "He wasn't thinking...he's not...not like that!" he demanded, and I responded by grabbing her wrist hard. "He is like that, Ayumi! If he wasn't like that then why would he attack his own sister in law, sexually!? If he can't control himself around family, then there's NO way I'm letting him around you!" I screamed. Ayumi blushes, and I can tell she is angry with me. "You don't understand him, Kaen!"

 

"Oh what, and you do!?"

She pauses, unsure of how to respond to me.

 

"Ayumi, check into reality why dont you!?" I scream, and she's surprised at my rashness. "He's not good!! He acts innocent enough and then he jumps you when you let your guard down! Why dont you see I'm protecting you!?" I shout, and she shakes free from my grip. "You're not protecting me, Kaen! Alphonse isn't like that! He's a great man and you just cant accept that!"

 

I grit my teeth. Here it was: the evidence before her, and she still continued to remain by his side. Even after he'd broken her heart. Here she was leaving all the pieces in his hands. She was head over heels, and there was no getting around that.

 

Ayumi growled lowly at me. "I'm not going to stop seeing him, Kaen. I love him, and even if he has a few...flaws...I'll look past them! You wouldn't understand!" she screamed, and thats when I knew I had no other option. I had to get some sense in her.

 

I raised my hand high and landed it hard against the side of her face.

 

She gasped, and immedietly I saw tears fly out of the corners of her eyes. She fell against the wall and stared at me. I grit my teeth. "Dont talk back to me Ayumi! If I find you with that Alphonse boy, I'm going to jail for murder!" I scream, slamming the door behind me as I storm away.

I've never liked Kaen, but this is too much! If I were Ayumi, I'd wait til he was asleep and then BAM! hit him on the head with a metal bat. And then I would tell him that if he EVER hit me again, then I was going to be the one going to jail for murder. Don't worry, Ayumi! I got your back on this! B(
