The Grip of Nature

The Grip of Nature

A Poem by Emunah June.

When your great Aunt Nature

Comes visiting you once a month

You're going to wish

You locked the door

She steals from your wallet

To buy pain relieving medication

And she cooks your foods wrong

So badly you wont want to eat them

And when she talks you cover your ears

And you'll find yourself in the bathroom often

Trying hard to stop

Your bloody bordem

And she stains your bedsheets

So you wake up to her

Smiling away at you

And you're already not excited to start your day

I hear she's not a fan of caffeine

I often drink some so she'll

Go away

At least until the smell of soda is off my breath

And eventually she spends all your money

And you've bled all the time you can

She goes away to bother someone else

But it's okay

I hear she only has nieces
